PANIC ROOM consists of precariously stacked crystal vessels, shaping ornamentally intriguing, monolithic pillars on a field of black charcoal. Videomappings on the surface shoot light through the pillars and reflecting light bounces off, while granular field recordings of glacial movements contrast the light´s movement. Light and sound are triggered by a game of life algorithm, causing organic bursts and decay of light.
The installation is a visual meditation on the proximity of optical and psychological vocabulary, recurring on central terms like „reflection“, „refraction“ and „projection“. It explores themes of vulnerability, transparency and perception, in both their visual and psychological context.
